The following video features a 30 second 3D modelled animation. The avatar was modelled using Blender, an open source modelling application. Blender is used for modeling, UV unwrapping, texturing, rigging, water simulations, skinning, animating, rendering, particle, and other simulations, non-linear editing, compositing, and creating interactive 3D applications, including games.Once modelled and animated it was edited together using final cut and expoted as a movie file.
Future and Emerging Technology
X3D represents a future and emerging technology, and is the new web way for browsers to render graphics. Essentailty X3D is 3D graphics which see the becoming of the 3D internet. X3D is the ISO standard XML-based file format for representing 3D computer graphics, the successor to the Virtual Reality Modeling Language (VRML).
The following project was created using X3D and blender. A model was first created in blender and than exported into the X3D scene, where it wa animated and expoted as a compatable browser reder.
